"I used Tools for a Great Marriage as the text for a nine week course on marriage for the young couples class at my church, First Baptist of Wheaton. I liked the fact that each chapter dealt with a different topic (conflict, communication, finances, etc.) so that it could “stand alone” for a Sunday morning class with a rotating attendance each week. The chapters were extremely practical and helpful to assign as weekly reading. I was extremely thankful for the study guide and how easy it was both to download and use. "I tried using the guide for several sessions, but found that what my group wanted to talk about took off on a direction of its own. Personally, I found the guide helpful with some good ideas that I thought would bring out some sharing and inter action. But what I had planned to bring to the classes hardly even got out of the bag. Each week, I started out with the question, what was good, what was not so good, and why? That all by itself seemed to get the ball rolling. Several times we continued for another week since the discussion was so overflowing. "We just completed the study 2 weeks ago. I am excited that you have put this great work into place. We only had three couples go through it on a Sunday night format. We took approx. 1:30 min. for the study and everyone stayed on track reading (something which rarely happens). The small group feel was really helpful for it. I love many of your questions for the group time. The Sharing Questions were great to open up the conversation. Having (in our small group guide) the freedom to discuss which thought from the chapter was the one that stood out the most got lots of conversational mileage.
